North 40 is seeking a talented and experienced prep cook to join our team! We are a luxury steakhouse in downtown North Platte, Nebraska featuring dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood, French culinary technique, curated and expansive wine list, and craft cocktails.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares meal ingredients as directed by chefs
- Prepares fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning
- Prepares meat by trimming, cutting, and portioning
- Prep for desserts, breads, and other pastry items
- Mixes or prepares condiments, dressings, and sauces
- Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards
- Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a high-quality mid-range volume restaurant (125-275 covers)
- Ability to cook from scratch, read recipes and follow instructions
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
- Dependable, hardworking, and able to excel in a fast-paced team environment
- Serve-Safe Certificate preferred
- Pastry knowledge and experience preferred but not required
- Previous prep experience preferred

- $16-$18 per hour plus tips
